The countdown to the biggest innovation festival in southern Germany has begun – only four weeks left! Featuring a world-class program and exhibiting up to 200 new and established companies and institutions, the new.New Festival taking place from October 8 to 10 in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Hall in Stuttgart has got something for everyone! It serves as a networking platform connecting forward-thinkers, pathbreakers and global companies with young talents, startups and international keynote speakers as well as influencers.

The new.New Festival 2018 is just around the corner! The program is now finally set, featuring an impressive array of talks, interactive sessions and formats and much-awaited competitions. Everything from the 8 – 10th of October centers around the theme “Intelligence X.0” and the chances of digital transformation. Passion is key! Here you will find a host of parties who are passionate about tech and entrepreneurship – a place to meet without borders, bringing together the digital leaders of tomorrow. At the heart of the new.New Festival is the CODE_n CONTEST – an international startup competition where the Top 50 Finalists from 15 countries will be pitching their business models. They are divided into three main categories: “Beyond Reality”, “Machine Intelligence”, and “Cryptographic Trust”. These young companies will be presenting their concepts on Monday as part of the “Top 50 Startup Presentations”. The top 10 entrants will then pitch in front of a VIP Jury on Tuesday morning and in the evening the jury will crown the overall winner of the CODE_n Awards along with the winners in the following categories: “Best Business Model”, “Best Innovation”, “Industry Disruptor”. The total prize money for the CODE_n Awards amounts to €30,000.

A place to meet on an equal footing, without artificial boundaries.

Established institutions and companies are also an integral part of the festival and will be hosting various tech events, opening people’s eyes to different possibilities of digital transformation. Nearly 200 young companies, established firms, universities and research institutions will be present at the event showcasing innovative content, insights on revolutionary technologies and exponential trends shaping humanity and the future of business.

In the age of digital growth at the speed of light, diversity is the essence of shaping digital transformation. Join us where the new comes to life. Mingle with investors, startups, pioneers, students, digital experts, media and leading enterprises in a relaxed atmosphere created to cultivate visionary makers. With plenty of presentations and workshops centering around focal topics such as artificial intelligence, VR and XR, and a variety of interactive attractions for talents and corporate companies alike, there is a mound of opportunity to innovate, disrupt and participate. The program also includes the ‘Future Room’ event facilitated by Harry Gatterer as well as a Hackathon, which will take place from 10:00 to 18:00 on Monday, October 8.

“The emphasis at the new.New Festival lies in the opportunities offered by digital transformation. Our aim is to think systematically through an exciting question: Where will people feature in all of this? We’d like to look beyond individual disciplines and think outside the tech box, which is why we’re also topping up the festival program with music and art. Diversity and achieving a balance in life are important prerequisites for developing new business models and coming up with innovations” states Moritz Gräter, Managing Director of CODE_n.

Have your mind blown away by top speakers from all fields who think way, way outside the box. Coming from 20 countries, they will bring to the stage diverse topics suited for students, young talents, professional experts, startups and corporate managers alike. Multiple networking formats such as Speed-Dating sessions offer the participating startups and established technology firms an opportunity for potential partnerships and collaboration.

From the drawing board into the real world – changing the future of business

Leading partners in different industries are set to provide visitors with plenty of mind-opening displays, highlighting how the future of business is changing. The series of activities organized will directly involve visitors at the festival in a number of ways. The initiative karlsruhe.digital aims to broaden visitors’ outlook with the aid of works of art and science. The Karlsruhe-based ZKM | Center for Art and Media will be showcasing pieces from its current exhibition “Open Codes”, which examines the nature of a world increasingly dictated by data.

Furthermore, festival attendees are invited to Fraunhofer Institute’s “Science Night” on Monday, October 8. Hosted at the festival partner’s four institutes – the IAO, IPA, IGB, and IBP – the side event promises exciting insights into digital transformation in society. Among the  companies exhibiting at the event, are also eight StartupBW accelerators who will be showcasing a variety of innovation initiatives offered by the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

There’s more, more and more!

It’s not all about innovation and networking; creatives also need inspiration. Activities for the mind, heart and soul are planned throughout the festival. For audience members to relax and open up their mind, meditation sessions for stress management through mindfulness will take place every morning and afternoon in 30-minute sessions led by Matthias Feil. Live musical acts performing at the Festival Piazza will fill the hall with sound. Amongst the entertainment is newcomer-duo Fear Josie from Mannheim, Luna and the indie-electro-band Eau Rouge from Stuttgart.

Opening the three-day festival is a very special guest – robot Sophia from Hanson Robotics. Coming all the way from Hong Kong to attend, Sophia will be part of podium discussions, interviews with various partners at the festival and audience members who will also get to meet her personally and engage with her throughout the festival.
