UK Grocery Store Now Selling Energy

UK grocer Sainsbury’s is testing a new energy management system in two of its distribution centers. The company is working with KiWi Power, a smart grid firm, to reduce Sainsbury’s power usage when there is high demand from the National Grid, such as during heat waves. The National Grid will pay Sainsbury’s for reductions in demand, which actually creates income for Sainsbury’s.
