Renewable Energy Investments on the Decline

Venture capital firms are moving away from riskier, early-stage cleantech startups and investing less: Bloomberg New Energy Finance (NEF) reported that in Q3 2012, $56.6 billion had been invested in clean energy projects and companies. While that certainly sounds like an impressive number, it was 20% than the amount invest last year. In fact, “The report says 2012 could “be the first down-year for world investment in the sector for at least eight years.”
