This year’s CODE_n is running under the motto: “Into the Internet of Things,” and spans the four categories Industry 4.0., Digital Life, Future Mobility, and Smart City. To give visitors a more focused view on this, here are a few highlights from the category “Smart City,” to be presented at the CONFERENCE.

Dr. Henning Krüger is responsible for IT at the German utility provider EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG. The IT used by energy suppliers to date has been rather reserved, bureaucratic and slow – making it less mobile, less customer-focused, and less open to new business ideas. Florian Ohly, Project Manager, DB Station & Service AG, holds a degree in computer science and started his career in 1994 as a management consultant for Otto Versand, a popular German mail-order house. After several years with external consulting companies, he joined Deutsche Bahn in 2002 as a senior project manager for corporate strategy. Next he served within DB as international project manager and IT portfolio manager for DB Schenker Logistics, before he joined DB Station&Service AG in 2010.

Uli Huener previously served as the CEO of Yello Strom GmbH, from September 2009 onward. As of March 2012, he has also served as Managing Director of EnBW Vertriebs GmbH. Uli Huener studied mathematics and business administration at the Universities of Bielefeld and Hamburg, and obtained a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology. Prior to getting into the Energy Business, Uli held various senior management positions with companies in the IT and telecommunications sectors in Germany and the US, gaining over 25 years of international experience overall – from startups to large corporations.

Rüdiger Dorn, Director of Technology Strategy EMEA, is part of the Microsoft CTO office and leads the Public Sector Cloud Strategy for Microsoft in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. He is responsible for driving the cloud business with governments, health care institutions, national security organizations, and educational institutions. He is also responsible for overseeing the establishment of a partner ecosystem around Microsoft cloud products and reporting customer feedback to engineering. Prior to this, he served at Microsoft in several international management roles, leading activities for the pharmaceutical and process manufacturing industries.
