As our lead controls engineer, you will drive the development of our next-generation software-defined battery platform. You model, simulate and validate digital power control functions employing state-of-the-art model-based design workflows. Closely interacting with the entire product development team, you are responsible of system-level integration with battery management and safety functions. After optimizing your implementation for our in-house developed embedded hardware, you will escort our batteries through testing and certification all the way into mass-production.

Your tasks

  • Take ownership of the heart of our software-defined battery platform
  • Improve and refine our leading-edge technology by modelling, simulating and validating suitable embedded power controls using analytical and model-based methods
  • Rapidly iterate and test your ideas using latest rapid control prototyping tools and system-in-the-loop simulation
  • Implement and optimize your functions on our custom embedded control hardware
  • Perform final validation on system-level and support certification efforts
  • Define the controls development roadmap as well as the engineering toolset you want to use
  • Form a team around you as the company grows
  • Flexibly support your colleagues all along the product lifecycle

Who we are looking for

  • You have previously proven your competence in controls engineering or a related field, ideally backed by higher education in a MINT subject
  • You like to take responsibility and work independently
  • You have strong analytical skills and enjoy working on demanding tech topics
  • You are experienced with embedded development, ideally C/C++ on ARM controllers
  • You have a profound knowledge of SIMULINK and tools such as dSPACE, PLECS or Speedgoat
  • You are curious about modern batteries and digital power electronics or have worked in the field before
  • You are highly proficient in English, spoken and written. German is considered a plus
